Christine Poole
Writer, poet and facilitator
I’m a Dublin-based writer, published poet and facilitator, interested in what it means to be human — how we experience our lives, make sense of them, and change along the way.
I’m drawn to the natural world – trees, birds, light, seasons, small things noticed while walking. My poetry and reflective writing explore that space between what we see outside and what is happening within. My writing explores womanhood, identity, emotion, and the different stages of life. I write across poetry, memoir and personal reflection, often starting with an ordinary moment and following where it leads.
I’m the author of Writing for Healing(https://a.co/d/0gXN8o3P), a book exploring how writing can help us reflect on and make sense of our experiences. I’m currently working on my first poetry collection and a memoir.
I also create and facilitate writing workshops, including Writing for Healing, offering people a gentle space to pause, write and see what emerges. I’m interested in writing not only as a creative practice, but as a way of paying attention — to ourselves, our experiences and the world around us.
Alongside my writing life, I work as a senior clinical scientist in healthcare. It might seem like a long way from writing, but the two have more in common than you might think. Both have taught me to be curious, notice what is happening, ask questions and stay with things long enough to understand them.
This website is where those parts of me come together.
Writing. Creativity. Reflection. Womanhood. Life.
And the ongoing process of becoming a writer.
